Client Spotlight: Uncle Crunch

Uncle Crunch is a woman-owned, family-run freeze-dried candy and treat company based in Medina County, Ohio. Founded in October 2023 by Lena Wilson, Uncle Crunch specializes in creating fun, colorful, and innovative freeze-dried candies that appeal to both kids and adults. Our products are made in a fully licensed FDA- and ODA-approved commercial kitchen, with a focus on unique flavors, seasonal favorites, and fan-favorite classics.

Why I Started Uncle Crunch

I started Uncle Crunch after a very challenging time in my life. Shortly after my recent divorce and just two weeks after moving into our new home, I was laid off from my job. I wanted to create a business that allowed me to provide for my family while doing something I love. I also wanted to show my kids that with perseverance and hard work, you can accomplish anything.

Seeing the joy our freeze-dried treats bring to customers makes every challenge worth it and motivates me to grow the brand even further — and my kids think I’m pretty cool now.

Uncle Crunch is currently available in close to 200 retail locations throughout Northeast Ohio, Pennsylvania, Indiana, and Illinois, including:

  • Giant Eagle locations (117th, Parma, and Twinsburg, with an additional 96 stores recently launched)

  • Market District (Solon, Strongsville, Avon, Uniontown, Portage Crossing, and Carmel, IN)

  • All Heinen locations, excluding Downtown and Chagrin

  • 11 Acme locations (Wedgewood, Streetsboro, Greenwich, State Rt 59, State Rd, South Ave, Bailey Rd, Manchester, Kent Rd, Parma, and Medina)

  • Meijer Fairfax locations in Cleveland, Richmond Heights, and Medina
