Women in Entrepreneurship
The Women in Entrepreneurship (WE) Program creates economic opportunities for women through entrepreneurial education and training, mentoring, and networking. Building on the YBI’s tradition of promoting and cultivating entrepreneurship in the Mahoning Valley, the WE Program provides quality education and training for women entrepreneurs.
Advancing women entrepreneurs
The mission of the WE Program is to promote the growth and creation of women and minority owned enterprises as a channel for creating personal and community wealth.
Women on the fast track to success
Women in Entrepreneurship offers three accelerator programs at YBI:
WE Create is Phase I of the WE Accelerator Program. This first phase is a four-week program that offers four workshops and educational sessions to help women who are ready to enter the world of entrepreneurship, but need help developing an idea. This program offers a $500 grant to assist in getting started.
WE Launch is Phase II of the WE Accelerator Program. It includes nine weeks of classes that teach the fundamentals of owning and operating a business. Its primary focus is to assist women who have started their own business, but need assistance in launching their product into the market. This program includes a competition that offers a chance to win a $5,000 grant.
WE Grow is Phase III of the WE Accelerator Program. It gives women four weeks of marketing strategy and tools to grow their existing businesses, and offers a $1,000 grant to assist with marketing services.
